AVNI Magazine
2026

Editorial
Typography
Publication

Each typeface is its own world. When we are mindful, typography can build worlds.

AVNI is a fictious magazine publication made entirely of ITC Avant Garde Gothic. With the angular ligatures, almost-perfect geometrical forms, and varied weights in the typeface, Avant Garde points to a geometric and cosmic world.

AVNI extends this world into a tpyographic system in an editorial format. It explores the type’s ligatures, weights, hierarchies, and history generously, pointing to a sci-fi future where aliens and humans can bond over their love for typography, graphics, and communication.

Print Fair is an annual event led by the BFA 2 Graphic Design class. With a team of 10, we developed a circus themed identity for the event.

In collaboration with Sophie Shin, we developed a typography poster for the event. Screen printed on burgundy paper with lilac and yellow ink, the design features diamonds, ornate typography, and playful banners intersecting the type. 35 posters were screen printed and hung in various locations on campus.

LEOPARD
2025

Publication
Print

Selected spreads from a publication project exploring the leopard through 5 words, 120 representative symbols, and two self-made methodologies.

One methodology centers on maximalism and using as much material as possible to saturate meaning while the other emphasizes minimalism: using as little as possible.

A.M. CASSANDRE
& BIJAN BERAHIMI
2026

Print

Posters practicing researching and replicating styles through two stylistically different designers: the graphic design visionary A.M. Cassandre and contemporary designer Bijan Berahimi.

Cassandre’s poster features intersections frequently found in his work including: practicality and dreaminess, machinery and nature, harsh angles and soft grain, sun and sea.

Bijan’s poster explores the vibrant palette, intense bold typography, and modern design spirit which is expressed in his work.

An 8 page digital spread detailing how graphic design can function as meditation.

1920’s: DESIGN PORTAL
2026

Website
Information Design

What happens when you come across a digital “portal to the 1920’s” with strange characters, even stranger dialogue, and ominous music playing in the background?

You gain an adventure.

1920’s: Design Timeline reframes a timeline as an interactive, point and click game. It informs and distorts all at once, with information being accurate, yet shown in exaggerated, odd ways that leave a mark on website visitors.

After two weeks of intensive 1920’s design research, select pieces and movements were highlighted in a series of frames. Said frames were exported onto Figma and prototyped as a website.
